Metal Clay Ltd has been supporting artists and jewellery makers since 2004. Having grown from a one-woman business run from a guest bedroom to one of the largest metal clay suppliers in the UK, we supply many large resellers as well as artists direct.

We are committed to offering a fast and friendly service, with the focus on helping others discover and understand metal clay and jewellery making. We’re your one-stop shop for metal clay, polymer clay, and resin, with products suitable for beginners to advanced professional users. And best of all – we do know what we’re talking about. We know our products, and if we can’t help you with a product question, we’ll find someone who can.

PETRA CAMERON

Petra

Petra has been designing and making jewellery for several years as a hobby. She left full time employment as a busy and well travelled Events Manager for a marketing agency to focus completely on jewellery and Art Clay in 2003.

In 2003 Petra completed her PMC Artisan Certification and in 2004 she was one of the first people in the UK to achieve her Art Clay Senior Certification. Since then Petra has trained many new Art Clay instructors, and has worked hard at introducing metal clay to a wider audience.

Petra was one of the first Aida certified Art Clay Senior Instructors in the UK, trained directly by a Master Instructor from Aida in Japan.

Petra started Metal Clay Ltd (then called Silverclay) in her guest bedroom, with all the stock neatly contained in a bookshelf – that didn’t last long, but the good old bookshelf is still in use in the warehouse!

Petra is passionate about metal clay. Still. After 20+ years. There is probably not one metal clay book she hasn’t read, and her studio is overflowing (literally!) with every tool you can imagine. Petra regularly shares her knowledge and experience through projects, articles, her website and newsletter, and through her role as part of Art Clay Guild UK Steering Committee, as well as courses in her studio and around the UK. She also oversees the Art Clay Certification Curriculum and Assessment process.

Petra organised the successful Art Clay World EU Conference at West Dean College in September 2008 – at that point the largest metal clay event to take place in Europe with tutors and students from all around the world. And in 2017 she launched the “You can make it” event – a residential metal clay event with a star studded line up of tutors and presenters from all around the world. This was a huge success and ran again in 2018, and 2020, with delegates from 20 countries.
